Hello stringers

Update on practices

1. 26th November, Wednesday orchestral practice with Mr Oh from 2.30pm-5.30pm
2. 29th November, Saturday orchestral practice with Mr Oh from 8am to 11am

Attendance is taken very seriously, and I expect that all turn up unless you have a really really really (and i stress again REALLY) valid reason. We all need to put in our bit of effort so that we can grow together!

But i'm still nice and lovely :)

- your nice and lovely and wonderful and all the brilliant adjectives you can think of vp :)

Hello guys!

not the entire actual thing, but its from the original cast of "Crazy for You". Basically, just get the idea for how to play I've got Rhythm. Note the dancing and the costumes!

Here's Gershwin playing I've got Rhythm!! THE COMPOSER HIMSELF! (he's a white, if you were wondering)

And JUST FOR FUN - I DON'T got Rhythm by Muppets!

we have to play in the same fun mood!! :D

and i'm in the mood for gershwin :D

anyways, please watch more vids on gershwin pieces (e.g. see below for rhapsody in blue) so that you know gershwin's style and more or less have a better idea on how gershwin ought to sound and how it ought to be played:

Rhapsody in Blue Part 1 of 2, Leonard Bernstein as pianist and conductor

Part 2 of 2

YAY! :D

after playing the weird chair games. i know the bamboo's (or whatever plant that is) is blocking, but at least its only blocking lumps of shizz like renjean. so not so important. :D seven wonders of the world: hand to ear (not there), hand to nostril (also not there), knee to elbow (erm .. halfway), foot to knee, hand to hand, oh dear can't remember the other wonder of the world. but seriously, anyone that PAYS to come and watch ziqian and audrina's 7 wonders of the world has been scammed!!!!!

REVAMPING THE ROOM! haha louise you look like u have a beard.

Hello, here are the scores that I found online for Waltz of the Flowers and Russian Dance. It's pretty messy, but I think it's the correct arrangement.

Here's the Mozart Divertimento (1st mvt) conducted by Yehudi Menuhin

Here's Waltz of the Flowers (Tchaikovsky); note that the part we are playing starts only at 1:00.

When you watch it (yes, watch the ballet), please look at how the people move, and how the actions fit with the music in terms of timing and mood/colour. like that you'll be able to play it more like it ought to sound :) if you find videos of better ballets, or nicer playing, or just something else you like, please post it!!

Russian Dance by Tschaikovsky again! :D its really cute! when watching it, please do the same things as the above video.

currently too lazy to find the rest. :)

I LOVE TCHAI!
